I grew up in Long Island, New York but had a family farm in Lovettsville Virginia (horses, cows, dogs, cats, sheep, and one donkey) which fostered my love of animals at a young age. I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field but did not decide to pursue veterinary medicine until I was in my first year of college at the University of Connecticut. During veterinary school at Cornell I was exposed to the world of specialty medicine and later fell in love with Internal Medicine. I adopted my first ever surgery patient, Roo (tabby cat!) during my second year of vet school and she has since developed quite a few internal medicine diseases, which has further solidified my passion for the field. I love the vast variety in cases that we see in Internal Medicine, the complexity of medicine disease processes and the long term client- and patient relationships.
I am moving from Philadelphia (where I did my internship and residency at the University of Pennsylvania) and am excited for this next chapter in D.C. In my free time I enjoy trying new restaurants (I am quite the foodie!), hiking and spending time with my fiance and my sweet cat Roo.
