I was born and raised in Oxford, Ohio. My appreciation and love of animals began at a young age, and as a teenager I joined 4-H to show rabbits. It wasn’t until college, however, that I decided to become a veterinarian. After receiving my undergraduate degree at Miami University (Ohio), I attended Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine for one year before moving back to Ohio to continue my veterinary education at The Ohio State University.
Immediately following graduation, I worked as an ER veterinarian in Cincinnati, OH. The following year, my husband and I got engaged on Mount Haleakala while on vacation in Hawaii. Soon after, I moved back to Columbus, OH, and accepted a position in general practice. During this time, I developed an interest in internal medicine and was able to concurrently work in a kidney diagnostic lab at the Ohio State Veterinary Hospital.
My favorite part of being a veterinarian is getting to witness and contribute to the remarkable bond that people have with their furry friends. I couldn’t be more excited to join Friendship’s team of veterinary care specialists and explore the D.C. metropolitan area.
