Meghan Jeffcoat, DVM

Specialty Surgery Intern

Orthopedic & Specialty Surgery

I grew up in Columbia, SC, and I have been immersed in the veterinary world since I was 16. I began as a kennel attendant at my home-town small animal general practice and maintained an assistant position there throughout college and veterinary school. In 2016 I obtained my B. S. in biology from Clemson University. I graduated from St. George’s University in 2021, having completed three years of didactic training in Grenada, West Indies, and one year of clinical training at the University of Georgia.

I returned to my home clinic as an associate veterinarian for one year before focusing my career on surgery. I left general practice to complete a surgical internship at Columbia Veterinary Emergency and Trauma Specialty and am ecstatic to continue my surgical education as a specialty intern at Friendship Hospital for Animals. I am particularly passionate about small animal soft tissue surgery, working on a cohesive team, and building relationships with both clients and patients.

In my free time I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my husband Harry and two dogs, Hattie and Uma.
