I was born in China and my family immigrated to the United States when I was just 6 years old. We originally lived in New York City but then moved to Long Island after my parents opened up a restaurant. My family never had pets when I was growing up, however, I always had an interest in animals and I would spend a lot of time watching Animal Planet. Although I started my undergraduate journey thinking I would go to medical school, I eventually decided to pursue a medical career involving animals.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring new places, cooking, and going on hikes with my Irish Setter, Kara. I have also developed quite an interest in keeping a saltwater reef tank with a myriad of fish and stony corals.
