I come from the small, rural town of Marydel, Delaware. Growing up, I sought out every opportunity to spend time with animals from volunteering as a veterinary assistant at a family friend’s clinic to participating in livestock shows at the state fair. After completing my undergraduate pre-requisite courses at the University of Delaware, I packed everything up and moved south to attend veterinary school at the University of Georgia. It was there that I fell in love with warm weather and southern comfort food!
In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking with my fiancé. When I find myself stuck inside, I love to cook and bake with my cat, Freya, as my sous-chef. She is still working on the whole “helping” thing.
Clinical Area of Interest
I find myself most drawn to Emergency and Critical Care as well as Anesthesia and Analgesia, but I am very excited to experience the many disciplines of specialty medicine at Friendship!
Why Did You Work at Friendship?
Spending two weeks here as an extern last year was all it took for me to fall in love with Friendship Hospital for Animals. The sense of camaraderie and the collaborative way in which all the services worked together to provide exceptional care to their patients was captivating. I am so honored to be a part of this team and I am looking forward to meeting many of DC’s pets along with their dedicated owners!
