I grew up outside of Philadelphia, in Newtown, PA. I had a love for animals at a young age, owning a variety of animals and riding horses. However, my love for veterinary medicine didn’t flourish until I accidentally bred 16 gerbils in middle school. Just kidding! I did accidentally have 16 gerbils, but my love of veterinary medicine has grown overtime from owning and caring for many dogs, ducks, chicks, horses, etc. In 2012, I decided to pursue my education in Poughkeepsie, NY where I was able to continue riding for the IHSA. After undergrad, I decided to embark on a new journey that took me out west.
This northeast girl was not quite ready for the laid-back west lifestyle. I made the trek to Logan, UT, where I completed my first two years of vet school through the WIMU program and finished up at Washington State University in Pullman, WA. The west was where I learned my love of the outdoors. In my spare time, I love camping, hiking, fly fishing, and paddle boarding. I also enjoy working out, but not at the expense of a good local brewery and burritos.
I own two adopted “horses”, well actually two 80 pound dogs that are my children (Nash – Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, and Tuck – German Shepherd). I love all pets, but have to say, shockingly, that German Shepherds take my #1 spot. I am looking forward to exploring D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and learning so much from the amazing veterinarians at FHA!
