I grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina where my love for animals was fostered from a young age. Among my family members, I was notorious for bringing home a variety of creatures and tried to save any wild animal my cats would leave us on our doorstep. While completing my Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, l I decided to begin working in the veterinary field and I never looked back! After graduating from UNC, I was excited to explore the northeast and move to Philadelphia where I received my VMD from the University of Pennsylvania. I am so excited to be embarking on my next adventure, join the Friendship team and explore Washington DC!
When I am not working with our furry (and non-furry) friends, I love exploring the city by trying new restaurants, visual and performing arts, and long walks with my Siberian Husky, Basil. I am also passionate about exercise and have a new-found love for the Peloton bike and classes. As much as I love being active, I am equally as enthusiastic about snuggling up with a cup of coffee, a good book, and my calico cat, Joplin, and reading the day away. While hate to leave my pets behind, I love traveling and am working on crossing off all my must visit locations on my bucket list!
My clinical areas of interest include: Emergency Medicine, Surgery and Ophthalmology.
