I grew up in São Paulo, Brazil hearing incredible stories about my father’s upbringing in Mozambique and his encounters with wild animals. Having been inspired from an early age, I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) for my undergraduate and graduate studies, receiving both my Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology and Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Afterwards, I completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgical Internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. My special interests include preventive health, oncology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.
In addition to veterinary medicine, traveling is one of my greatest passions. I enjoy exploring new lands and immersing myself in different cultures. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Roatán, the Galápagos Islands, and Brazil to help provide local communities with voluntary veterinary health care.
Spending time with family and friends is important to me, including my favorite four-legged family member, Bambino. I also enjoy outdoor adventures, primarily hiking and stand up paddling. It is an honor to practice quality medicine at Friendship Hospital for Animals and call the D.C. community my home.
